Film can be a great tool in the growth of a football team.
A week ago Monday, the Routt football team studied really studied film from the Brown County game in preparation for Triopia.
“We really broke down film hard after Brown County, and broke it down to a fundamental standpoint, as far as, let’s look at each individual player, each individual play and try and figure out where things were breaking down and why,” Routt coach Barry Creviston said. “So we really spent about an hour and a half in film on Monday after Brown County, and just really talked specifically about each play instead of just don’t sit here and just watch the game like you would an NFL game on a Sunday afternoon. Look at your position what did you do wrong? And then we really stopped it and re-wound it a lot, and just talked fundamentals, as far as what we’re doing wrong.

The first field goal Triopia’s Caden Moore has ever kicked in a high school football game came with the score tied and no time on the clock against the team’s biggest rival, with a chance at a Western Illinois Valley Conference championship on the line.
Moore’s 21-yard kick sailed straight through the uprights to give the Trojans a 15-12 win over Routt at the old MacMurray College football field in Jacksonville on Saturday.
“I wasn’t very nervous at the start, but when you get up there, it’s different,” Moore said. “It’s a lot different. So I started getting nervous. But I just got the job done, so that’s all we needed to do.”
