The Woodland Opera House Young Adult Performers Series will be producing “A Wizard of Oz” for streaming performances on March 6 and 7. The cast size is 16 and is open to actors ages 11-18. Tuition is $150 for those cast.
Adapted for the stage by Jon Jory from the book by L. Frank Baum, this version is faithful to the original novel and follows Dorothy’s journey over the rainbow and into the land of Oz. This short adaptation is perfect for the streamed performances and Zoom rehearsals necessary to distance actors.
Auditions will be on Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 4 and 5, by appointment on Zoom. All roles are open and include Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man, Lion, Wicked Witch of the West, The Great Oz and Glinda, as well as kalidahs, poppies, citizens of the Emerald City, flying monkeys and munchkins.
