In a defamation and false light lawsuit filed on Jan. 10, Lake Restoration Solutions says Ben Abbott, associate professor of aquatic ecology at Brigham Young University made false and defamatory remarks about the company’s proposal to dredge the lake and build man made islands for development, recreation and wildlife.
The Utah Lake Restoration Project, spearheaded by Lake Restoration Solutions, is a proposed solution to dredge Utah Lake and build manmade islands. However groups like the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance have signed onto a petition to fight the project and the legislation that would permit it.
