Acton has adopted inclusive, gender-neutral terms for its main executive board. The change goes in effect immediately.
According to a release, residents at a special Town Meeting in September 2020, decided on a voice vote to amend the Town Charter, changing references from “Board of Selectmen” to “Select Board.” That vote also authorized changing all references of “Selectmen” to “Members.”
The Town Meeting vote was codified at the annual town election in April 1,630-380. The vote allowed the town to begin using the terms “Select Board” and Members without delay. The name change appropriately represents the changed times and in no way should diminish the service of the men and women who served Acton dating back to 1735, Select Board Chair Jon Benson said.

In terms of video game genres, an accurate simulation of racing is fairly young. The computing power simply wasn t available to the average person until the very late 1980s and really the 1990s for a game to really be considered a sim. These experiences were almost entirely on PCs, and console gamers had to wait quite a bit longer.

While everyone in the hospitality industry was adjusting to life during the pandemic, the Hana-Maui Resort was going through an additional transition as it joined the Hyatt family.
The 74-year-old property, most recently known as Travaasa Hana, was sold to Mani Brothers Real Estate Group in December 2019. This year, the new owners chose to partner with Hyatt and its Destination Hotels brand for the next era of the resort, and this summer the name was officially changed to the Hana-Maui Resort. More changes are in store: A full renovation is now in the planning stages, and workers are expected to break ground on the overhaul in the final quarter of 2021.
