South Holland groups back new mental health reforms  | Updated: 16:44, 28 January 2021 A proposed major reform of mental health care could make a huge difference to so many– says a key supporter of those with mental health issues. Vanessa Browning, who lives in Spalding and runs Community Mind Matters, set up to help residents with depression and anxiety, said she backs new Government proposals ‘100 per cent’. Health and Social Care Secretary Matt Hancock has unveiled a new white paper for the proposals, saying ‘we must bring the Mental Health Act into the 21st century’. The bench is available for people wanting to chat with a support worker about any anxieties or concerns.

When will Fayetteville area hospitals get COVID-19 vaccines?

Six hospitals in the Cape Fear region are expected to start getting COVID-19 vaccines next week with at least one facility expected to receive doses Monday. Cape Fear Valley Medical Center in Fayetteville is expected to receive 2,975 doses of the vaccine, according to state Department of Health and Human Services records. Bladen County Hospital in Elizabethtown and Hoke Hospital in Raeford, which are both part of Cape Fear Valley Health system, each will get 975 doses.  Cape Fear Valley officials say they expect the health system’s vaccine shipment to arrive Monday or Tuesday. Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, which has a management agreement with Cape Fear Valley Health, also is expected to receive 975 doses.
