The writing of biography is the famously arduous and lengthy process and each year we award for fellowships of a 72000 each to overworking biographers to help them across the finish line. Over the past 11 years we have given out 44 of these grants and our fellows have produced 21 biographies to date. Thanks to a grant from the Sloan Foundation when we added a fifth fellowship also for 72000 which will support biographies about figures in the science and technology and the first winter is working on a biography of oliver sacks, laura snyder.
