In the November 1999 federal election, PBS only managed 3 parliamentary seats, a far cry from the 8 seats that it won in 1995 and 14 in 1990. The 3 seats were in Bandau (Dr Max), Tanjong Aru (Dr Yee Moh Chai) and Tan Sri Pairin (Keningau). The trio was seen as the Flagship Carrier of PBS.
KOTA KINABALU, June 10 Parti Bersatu Sabah has blamed a nominated PAS assemblyman for planting divisive and extremist sentiments in Sabah following the latter’s call to segregate shopping trolleys carrying non-halal products in supermarkets here. PBS vice president Datuk Johnny Mositun panned.
KOTA KINABALU: There should be no doubt as to Parti Bersatu Sabah s (PBS) loyalty to the Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) coalition government, says PBS vice-president Datuk Johnny Mositun.
He said speculation of PBS joining opposition Parti Warisan Sabah is nothing new, but his party has been working with GRS to develop the state and will continue to do so.
Mositun s statement on Thursday (May 20) echoed that of Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Seri Bung Moktar Radin on Wednesday (May 19).
Bung, the Sabah Barisan Nasional and Umno chief, said the rumours were played up by certain quarters to confuse the people. Speculation was rife after the Sabah state election last year that PBS would join Warisan to form the new state government.

PAPAR: The Rural Development Ministry (KPBLS) and Kim Teck Cheong (KTC) Consolidated Berhad donated 10,000 packaged buns to the Papar District Office here, Wednesday.
Papar District Officer Ghulam Rasul Hapil expressed his gratitude to the donors for their generous contribution and said that the buns will be distributed to frontliners and Community Development Leader Units (UPPM) in the area.
“Thank you very much to the Rural Development Ministry and KTC Consolidated Berhad for this noble initiative and effort,” he said during the handover of donations, here.
