A New Jersey woman who pleaded guilty to helping her boyfriend spread a feel-good story about a homeless veteran that garnered more than $400,000 in donations.
Burlington County officials say Burlington Township resident Katelyn McClure, 32, her boyfriend Mark D’Amico and Johnny Bobbitt scammed donors out of more than $400,000.
Prosecutors said Katelyn McClure and her boyfriend at the time spun a tale that helped them raise more than $400,000 for a homeless man. All three were eventually charged.
