Oak tree planted for former Royal Wootton Bassett town clerk

A NEW town clerk has been announced for Royal Wootton Bassett. It comes as Johnathan Bourne retired after 32 years but now Stephen Nash will be taking the reins in February. He s been the clerk at Fawley Parish Council, Ringwood Town Council and Swanley Town Council. Having previously served in the army with posting in Wiltshire he s happy to be coming back. Councillor Marion Sweet said: We selected Stephen from a significant number of 12 very strong candidates, but none matched the drive and vision for Royal Wootton Bassett offered by Stephen Nash. Mayor Nic Hughes said: We had a good number of very strong candidates apply for this position and Stephen s experience made him stand out. We are pleased he has accepted the position and look forward to working with him.
