Going on there. Absolutely, john. It took firefighters nearly four hours to get the fire under control. Just before 9 00. They can finally say they have things contained inside this building. A big reason for that is that the redwood city fire marshall told us this building is so old that it was not required to have sprinklers, and there were no sprinklers inside this building. If you look behind me, there are a lot of firefighters inside this apartment. Theyre saying it was the top floor of the building, inside an apartment, where they believe the fire began. It then spread down to the third floor and most critically, they say it spread out into the hallway, and that is what made it so difficult for everyone to get out.
