Similar to the omicron and delta COVID-19 waves last winter that crippled emergency rooms, Nebraska, Iowa and other Midwest hospitals are currently leaning on nearby states to get medical care for patients.
"Our hospitals are entering a very challenging time," said Jeremy Nordquist, president of the Nebraska Hospital Association. "And quite frankly, we need Nebraskans to help us with it."
