Two former North Carolina House members who have now returned to Raleigh after time away have landed committee leadership positions. House Speaker Tim Moore unveiled on Tuesday committee rosters for the new two-year session. Republican Rep. Stephen Ross of Alamance County and Democratic Rep. Tricia Cotham of Mecklenburg County both won their elections in November. Ross is now a commerce chairman, while Cotham will help lead the K-12 education committee. Cotham is one of a few Democrats who received top committee positions in a chamber where Republicans hold 71 of the 120 seats. Democratic Rep. Michael Wray of Northampton County is now one of four finance committee senior chairmen.
