Is ktvu fox two news at 730. Good evening. Im claudine wong. And we begin tonight with developing news in san francisco. That is where officers are investigating a police shooting. It happened near laguna street and geary boulevard. Police say it all started when a vehicle crashed into the chinese consulate shortly after three this afternoon. Police say officers arrived and found the vehicle inside the lobby of the visa office and made contact with the driver. Thats when shots were fired. But police have not said specifically what led up to that shooting. Police tell us the suspect was taken to the hospital and was pronounced dead. This is a unique investigation because it did happen inside the lobby of the chinese consulate. So theres a number of agencies and jurisdiction that are involved. Open fire, killing the driver near the 11 00 news on ktvu. Fox two starts now. And the witness says about 20 people were in that exact area of the consulate where the car crashed. They were all applying for visas. Good evening, everyone. Im mike mibach. And im julie julie haener. Amazing no one else was hurt. Ktvus amber lee joins us now from the newsroom with video showing the moment that car came crashing into the building. Amber julie, i spoke with a College Student who was inside the chinese consulate applying for a visa to visit his grandpa in china. Videos posted on x show the blue honda civic that crashed through the front door of the chinese consulate in San Francisco. And inside a lobby where people were applying for visas to travel to that country. After i was shaking, i was i was like very like scared. It was very like slightly traumatic. Tony shin tells me he was among the 20 people waiting to process their visas. I heard a really loud bang. I thought it was like gunshots.
