One is a new hotel adjacent to the Convention Center with a new parking ramp. Second is an agriculture and Expo Learning Center near the site of the former john morrell plant. And third new housing in the 100 block of virginia street. All of which Economic Development director Mark Dougherty says will be beneficial to the city. They kind of work nicely in a district, i wish the district was bigger, were trying to fit everything in there, its kinda tight, um its really an opportunity for the community to tap into state resources as we have in the past, with projects like the Tyson Event Center or the orpheum, that have been of lasting value. Start this spring. December 2016 is the target time to open the park. Its been talked about for tonight, the Sioux City School board approved a land donation to the city of sioux city. If you look a little to the west of lincoln elementary, youll see dearborn bridge. Sioux city of land leading up to that bridge. The school board decided to donate that piece of land to the city so that they can reconstruct the bridge. They say this is a common practice between the School District and the city. And this is not the first and for sure not the last time they will go through with Something Like it. This will be great for the community as a whole because during the reconstruction process of the bridge this will help realign things, it will keep everything a little bit more at bay in the neighborhood, it will actually make the project line up and look right and its good for us because we are a neighbor as well to that project, said Sioux City Community schools director of operations and mainte
