Journalist Theo Peter Curtis freed by islamic militants in syria after two years in captivity. The 45yearold curtis was kidnapped in october 2012 and turned over to an Al Qaeda Linked group. Curtis is expected to be reunited with his family, shortly. Nick paton walsh is following the developments for us. Good morning, nick. Reporter john, interesting to know he was handed over. One of the strangest parts was the Syrian Border partially controlled by rebels, but a long way away from where he was kidnapped in northern syria, held for six months in aleppo. We know he was held with another american. For six months together, they shared the cell, torture and hunger and shared an escape plan. That involved theo pushing matt up to a window in the cell.
