She was born Nov. 15, 1968, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to Jack and Jeanette (Thorson) Ernst. She graduated from Cedar Rapids Jefferson High School in 1987, then went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications from the University of Iowa. Despite these achievements, her proudest accomplishments, pride and joy was her three kids. She reveled in motherhood and for many years was a stay at home mom. Sherry was a fun and energetic mom, making each day seem like a mini adventure. Her passion for motherhood was readily seen by all and she was excitedly anticipating becoming a grandma soon.
