an 8-year-old girl sexually assaulted in a walmart store in the east bay. the man accused of the act behind bars, thanks to some quick-thinking customers. anne makovec in san leandro to explain, the second time in two weeks that strangers have stepped in to stop an alleged attacker. ann? reporter: we were just talking about a sexual assault that happened in union city a couple of weeks ago, where a 2- year-old girl was assaulted. right in the middle of the store. and it happened on friday night here at the walmart. the victim was an 8-year-old girl. and i m on davis road in san leandro. here is what happened. this whole incident took a matter of seconds. not minutes. not hours. it was seconds. the best thing that i can say is when you re taking your children to the store, keep them close to you. reporter: it was 7:00 on friday evening, an 8-year-old girl was shopping in walmart s toy section with her mom when she walked away to find her brother and seconds later police
