Joy said Minnesota needs to be careful with how it operates. “We need to keep our rural values and just remember where we came from,” he said. “We don’t want to get overburdened with regulations and taxes."
“Paul (Marquart) is very popular. He has consistently outperformed every other Democrat, and I think we need more of that,” Hest said in an interview. “I’m very much inspired by pragmatism that will help people – I want to get things done and not get caught up in the partisan nonsense in St. Paul.”
Three Minnesota legislative seats covering all or parts of Clay County are up for grabs in the Tuesday, Nov. 8, general election, including two seats long held by DFL lawmakers Paul Marquart and Kent Eken, who are not running for re-election.
