After being postponed by COVID-19 and arguments over punishments, another round of resentencing dates was scheduled for John William Campbell to decide his fate for killing his father with a hatchet just over 10 years ago inside his Inverness home.
During Campbellâs hearing Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2020, Citrus County Circuit Court Judge Richard âRicâ Howard set June 9-11 as when heâll hear lawyers mitigate and intensify the 47-year-oldâs crime.
Howard alone will then rule to either order Campbell back to death row or sentence him to a lifetime of incarceration.Â
Campbell phoned into court Wednesday from Floridaâs Union Correction Institute in Raiford.Â
