[Listen] AM MN John Dvorak & Gretchen Hohrman Rice County Fair Rice County Fair Manager John Dvorak was on today s AM Minnesota Program along with Board Member Gretchen Hohrman who is in charge of the Rice County Fair Ambassador Program. The Rice County Fair is looking for candidates, guys and gals ages 16 to 20 to compete for Rice County Ambassador. The only other requirement is resident of Rice County or membership in Rice County 4H. New this year is the Rice County Junior Ambassador Program. This is for boys and girls ages 6 to 10. Like the Senior Ambassador they must live in Rice County or be in Rice County 4-H. Also new this year is the Rice County Fair will begin on Wednesday morning July 21. 2021. So, the Rice County Fair Senior and Junior Ambassador Program will be held the Saturday before July 17, 2021 on the Rice County Fairgrounds.

[Listen] John Dvorak & Steve Storck MN Fed. of County Fairs Today s AM Minnesota Program was more hopeful for county fairs in Minnesota this summer given Governor Walz s announcement last week. However, Rice County Fair manager John Dvorak said things could change quickly if there is a spike in COVID-19 test results. However, plans will move forward for the Rice County Fair this summer. I did ask Steve Storck the President of the Minnesota Federation of County Fairs if they had some sort of safety guidelines for county fairs to adapt. Steve said that was more of a local issue with each county fair and their Public Health Department. It would be difficult to have one set of recommendations for the entire state of Minnesota.
