Melissia Hinton-Miller, 65, died Tuesday from her injuries after spending nearly two weeks in the hospital, according to Cumberland County First Assistant District Attorney Michelle Sibert. Her name previously was released as Melissa but Sibert confirmed Thursday that the spelling of her first name is Melissia.

The person of interest is an elderly man, who is in custody, Public Information Officer John Bruetsch said. There is no threat to the public. The shooting happened around 6:57 p.m. Neighbors who have lived on Greenmont Drive, where the shooting occurred, for decades said they never thought they would see something like this happen in their family-friendly neighborhood. Other neighbors said they suspected the elderly man was capable of doing something like this.
