The John Alden Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution concluded a two-month donation drive for Shelterhouse of Midland. Pantry items, no-sew blankets and gift cards were gathered by drop-offs at Plymouth Park in November and December. Women’s Issues Chair Nancy Pnacek spearheaded the campaign and delivered the collection to Sheltherhouse on Monday. Shelterhouse provides services to those who have experienced domestic abuse or sexual assault.
DAR’s Dec. 12 meeting was held via Zoom. The guest speaker was maritime historian Ric Mixter. He presented “Valley Girls: Shipwrecks of the Saginaw Valley. Members and guests enjoyed the chance to learn a part of Michigan history not always known to us. Many of these ships were built in Bay City. Mixte
