THE head of the Imiakebu community in the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State, Chief Ugheiemhekhia Yahaya, on Tuesday, asked for N50bn compensation for the alleged murder of five youths by a police officer, John Agaga.
Yahaya told the state Judicial Panel of Inquiry for victims of SARS and related abuses that the incident happened on December 28, 2019, claiming the lives of Sabo Abacha, Garuba Shaka, Sunday Augustine, Isaac John and Sunday Junior.
He also asked for N50m compensation each for five others who were wrongfully detained at the state police command for two days.

The Edo State Judicial Panel of Inquiry for victims of SARS has ordered that the state Commissioner of Police, Johnson Kokumo, and a Superintendent of Police, John Agaga, appear before it on December 21 for the alleged murder of five youths in Itsukwi community in the Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State.
Counsel for Chief U. K. Yahaya and four others, Kami Asunogie, told the panel on Wednesday that Agaga allegedly killed five of the youths of the community over a minor conflict between two neighbouring communities that could have been resolved amicably.
