Tanner Baker (pictured above) came in fourth overall at the VHSL Class 5 Region A Cross Country Championship last Saturday at Bells Mill Park in Chesapeake. Baker ran a 17:25 at the meet and is the only Gloucester runner who qualified to compete in the VHSL State Championships in Leesburg on Friday.
The Gloucester High School boys’ and girls’ cross country teams placed fourth and sixth, respectively, at the VHSL Class 5 Region A Cross Country Championship last Saturday at Bells Mill Park in Chesapeake.
Tanner Baker, who came in fourth place overall and ran a 17:25 at the meet, is the only GHS runner to qualify for the VHSL State Championships, which will take place Friday at the Oatlands Historic House and Gardens in Leesburg.After Baker, Alec Daniel came in next for the Gloucester boys’ team with a time of 17:39.
