Joe D Mango
Every generation has its fair share of public confidants/advisers on matters of the heart, and then some.
They don’t have to be certified guidance counsellors or life coaches as some are known are today. They usually speak from experience, the university of life.
The 1960s saw the rise of Dely Magpayo, who took her surname seriously to dish out free advice to letter-senders via a popular radio program that carried her name, Tia Dely.
In the 70s, Helen Vela, she with the soothing, comforting voice, launched her own advice program on radio (and later, on TV), Lovingly Yours, Helen.

Joe D’Mango
Almost in every country where there are Filipinos, there is undoubtedly a fan of Joe D’Mango’s popular radio program,
Love Notes. Then a widely-followed show that debuted on DWTM in 1989,
Love Notes ran on local radio for more than two decades.
It eventually spawned a movie directed by Maryo J. de los Reyes in 1995, a TV series, a weekly column, a pocketbook and an album series.
Love Notes ended sometime in 2012.
However, even after Joe and his family migrated to Canberra, Australia the following year, he was compelled to revive
Love Notes this time on YouTube via his own exclusive channel Dear Joe TV.
