Reporter for years of living near the Railroad Tracks tim says the trains have rumbled through his palo alto neighborhood have become background noise but says the noise from the trains and the loud horns are disquieting. Some neighbors complain about the noise during nighttime hours because they are disrupted from their sleep. Its a loud warning. And i suppose that to hear that warning all day every day and all night every night, thats an issue. Reporter the city of palo alto is considering a potentially costly plan to allow trains to operate more quietly inside the city by eliminating the need to blow the horns at street level crossings like this. The city would have to install additional Safety Measures at the crossing like gates to prevent cars from driving on the tracks as a train approaches.
