Gaines Center taking applications for mini-grants for the 2023-24 academic year

The University of Kentucky's Gaines Center for the Humanities is now accepting applications for its mini-grant program for the 2023-24 academic year. Now in its fourth year, the program provides grants of up to $500 intended to support humanities-related programming in the form of a speaker for a virtual, or in-person event or an interactive humanities experience for UK and/or the community.

Gaines Center names 12 new scholars

The University of Kentucky Gaines Center for Humanities has selected 12 exceptional undergraduates as new scholars for the university's Gaines Fellowship Program for the 2023-2024 and 2024-2025 academic years.

Bale Boone Symposium presents an Evening with Bill T Jones

Bill T. Jones, artistic director of New York Live Arts and artistic director/co-founder of the Bill T. Jones/Arnie Zane Dance Company, will headline the University of Kentucky Gaines Center for the Humanities 2022 Bale Boone Symposium. The event will take place both in-person and via livestream 6 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 13, in Haggin Theatre at Transylvania University.
