analyst and biographer joan biscupic. let s take voting rights first why two big cases in front of them, one dealing with an independent state legislative theory and another dealing with the voting rights act and what is left of it. that s right. they re poised to break ground beyond what they did in 2022. first case with the independent state legislature is an idea to allow state legislators to have almost complete authority over state election laws not to be checked by state judges so it really would reorder the usual checks and balances on election laws in the state. taking a fringe theory putting it in the center of
