The new 'Rules of Discipline and proper conduct of students of JNU', running up to 10 pages, details punishments for several activities that have been classified as 'misconduct and indiscipline'.
JNU has issued a 10-page rule book, laying out punishments for different kinds of acts. Now, students may face a Rs 20,000 penalty and admission cancellation if they sit for protests.
According to the document, the rules came into effect on February 3. It came after the university witnessed a slew of protests over the screening of a BBC documentary.
