SRINAGAR, Apr 25: Alleging that even as India gasps for breath due to inept handling of COVID-19 situation by the Government of India (GoI), former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti said that ‘Centre’s paranoia about Kashmiris has touched a new low with social media of Government employees now being monitored’.
Mehbooba, who is the president of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), further alleged that the vengeance with which J&K’s special status was scrapped doesn’t seem to have an end in sight.
“Even as India gasps for breath thanks to GOIs inept handling of COVID, its paranoia about Kashmiris has touched a new low with social media of Government employees now being monitored. Srinagar: The Clooney Foundation for Justice (CFJ), founded by Hollywood actor, producer and screenwriter George Clooney and his lawyer wife Amal Clooney, has announced it will monitor the trial of Kashmiri journalist Aasif Sultan, who has been in detention for more than two years on terror charges. He has been accused of sheltering the militants who killed a policeman on August 12, 2018 during a gun battle in Srinagarâs crowded Batamaloo area â an accusation his family and lawyers deny.
