Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Friday e-inaugurated 607 vocational labs, education portal and GIS Portal developed by Samagra Shiksha in a bid to strengthen the vocational education ecosystem in Jammu and Kashmir.
Speaking on the occasion, the Lt Governor observed that important features of New Educational Policy have been initiated in Jammu and Kashmir which will pave a strong foundation for job-oriented education for the youth.
MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava said the idea behind facilitating these visits was to enable envoys to get a better sense of the prevailing normalcy in J&K.
Prior to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, two groups of envoys had visited Jammu and Kashmir.

The visit by 24 foreign envoys to Jammu and Kashmir was aimed at enabling them to witness the union territory s march on the path of inclusive development and the dynamism in the grassroots democratic institutions following the successful conduct of the recent local polls, the Ministry of External Affairs said on Thursday.
The comments by MEA spokesperson Anurag Srivastava came at the end of the two-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir by the envoys.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch the PMJAY - SEHAT scheme on December 26 for Jammu and Kashmir. According to the Department of Information and Public Relations, Government of Jammu and Kashmir, SEHAT scheme stands for Social, Endeavour for Health and Telemedicine, a health insurance scheme for the Union Territory. The Office of Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, said that all inhabitants of the Union Territory will receive free cashless health cover up to Rs 5 lakhs.
