Congress leader and former Union minister Jitin Prasada, who joined the BJP on Wednesday, has said there was no point being in a party if you cannot help the people .
Jitin Prasada joined the BJP in the presence of Union minister Piyush Goyal at the party headquarters in New Delhi. Addressing the press, he said, I was associated with Congress for three generations. I’ve taken this decision after a lot of thought.

Jitin was part of the group of 23 leaders who had written to party chief Sonia Gandhi last October seeking organisational overhaul and elections at all levels.

Uttar Pradesh Congress leader and a prominent young face of the party from the state Jitin Prasada on Wednesday joined the BJP.
It comes as a major jold to the Congress as Prasada’s decision has come ahead of the assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh.
