Arson investigators believe the other fire started here. Waterdropping helicopters work night and day to douse the flames. By this morning the two fires had burned more than 5,000 acres. Right now weve got fire burning on three sides of us. The flames are slowly making their way down the mountain here. What firefighters are trying to do is stop them before they reach these homes. L. Later one of the young activist, jimmy lee johnson, was shot by a state trooper and then he was taken to the hospital in selma which is 27 miles away and eight days later he passed away. So jimmy lee jacksons death is actually what spurred the march from selma to montgomery. My parents both several times went back to the argentina. Never together because it was hugely expensive to go. So my mom went back a number of times in the late 60s and early 70s to visit her parents and sisters and their families.
