We just showed you, gas prices are low so everybodys feeling that no matter how much money you make, youre feeling the low gas prices. Job market is coming back. Higher income mostly higher income earners, theyre really feeling the stock market returns. Theyre more likely to be in the stock market. Great return to the stock market this year so for the first time in seven years, a majority of americans are feeling good, say the economy is doing well. So that gdp number, low gas prices, the stock market put it all together, theyre calling it the christmas rally. Even minimum wage were expecting to go up. There will be 20 states where minimum wage rises come january 1. So even though theres been consternation about how wages in general are not rising, wages are the part of this economic recovery that have the v not been there, the states are raising minimum wages in 20 states so people will have more money in their pockets. Backgammon Then and Now   Author’s Note:  I played backgammon professionally for almost 20 years, then gave it up completely. I reached the high intermediate level, but most of the players that were interested in gambling with me were better. That was a prescription for disaster. I needed to get a job because I was not a winning player anymore. Today’s blog has nothing to do with video poker, but it does have to do with gambling. I played most of my backgammon at the Cavendish West, which was in the West Hollywood section of Los Angeles, from about 1974 to 1993. Some of the regulars back then who are still active in tournament backgammon are Bob Glass, Jim Pasko, Steve Sax, Joe Russell, and Bob Wachtel.
