Are following Breaking News from south florida. It is devastating really. Its deadly. Theres been a highrise building that has collapsed in the city of surf side. This is just north of miami beach for context there. And what youre looking at here are live aerial pictures from the scene. You see that Swimming Pool on the left . This part of the building that has fallen down stretched all the way alongside that Swimming Pool. So were talking about a very large chunk of this building that fell down overnight. There is a huge pile of debris, 12 stories in this apartment building. Balconies that had been sawed in half, and were told that at least one person has died. About 100 units in this building, think of it, 39 years old. The collapse happened before 2 00 a. M. New video shows rescue crews pulling a young boy from the rubble. More than 80 Emergency Teams are on the groundworking to find survivors. We have some sort of before and after video. This is what the building looked like before
9 11, literally. This is by far the most horrific thing ive seen in my life. The whole thing came down. It looks like a bomb went off. Were pretty sure a bomb didnt go off. Heartbreaking for anyone still trapped inside. This stunning new hopeful. A young boy being rescued from the rubble. There are fears, understandable fears, more people could be trapped. Right now more than 80 Emergency Teams are working to find survivors if they can. This is what the 12story Ocean Front Condo Building looked like before this mornings collapse. And now a huge piece of that structure came down. Cnns Leyla Santiago is on the scene in surf side, florida, with the very latest. top of the hour. thank you for joining us in this cnn newsroom. i m erica hill. i m jim chsciutto. the ntsb investigators are headed back to ohio. they have more concerns after a new crash there. and now, there is a police training facility where there was protesters who set a vehicle on fire and there was a clash there. and we will look at the look next of former president trump and governor desantis as they head to ohio this week. and we go to jason carroll who is on the scene there in ohio, and i understand, jason, that the ntsb investigators are going to be headed to the scene today, and we understand that we have new information about the crash and what the train was carrying, and is there a risk to the citizens there? yes, the ntsb say that there is no risk to the residents here, but within a month s time, a second crash here, and you can see that one of the cars here is still on the side here, and the investigators will be coming out to sort out what happened
