It runs in the bloodline for Chris Herriman.
Herriman watched his parents, Jim and Claire, teach and coach at Eldon High School before Claire transitioned into being an athletic director at Eldon for 11 years.
Chris has already lived out the legacy as a teacher and coach during the past few years, but he will now make the transition his mom made as he was officially approved last Thursday to be the next athletic director at Jefferson City High School.
The Jefferson City Jays know they will find out a lot about themselves in the Joe Machens Great 8 Classic this week. The Jays open up the three-day tournament at 7 p.m. today against Rogers, Ark., at Fleming Fieldhouse and they will be tested against a talented field.
