Man, 28, dies after he’s shot several times on city street, cops say

A 28-year-old man died early Wednesday after he was shot multiple times on a street in Camden, authorities said.
Mahlon Kellum, of Camden, was found by police who were called about 2:30 a.m. to the intersection of 6th and Viola Streets on a report of a shooting, according to Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer.
Kellum was taken to a nearby hospital, where he died of his injuries, Mayer and Camden County Police Chief Gabriel Rodriguez said in a statement.
“The shooting remains under investigation and detectives are working to determine who is responsible,” the statement said.

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - A Cherry Hill man is facing murder and weapons charges after prosecutors said he shot and killed a 64-year-old Delaware man in the parking lot of an apartment complex on Easter Sunday.
Tymere Brown, 26, was arrested in Wilmington on Wednesday night by local U.S. Marshals and charged with first-degree murder. Brown was developed as a suspect following witness accounts, according to Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer.
Late Wednesday night, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Cherry Hill Police Chief William “Bud” Monaghan announced the arrest of 26-year-old Tymere Brown. The Cherry Hill man was charged with first-degree murder and weapons violations.
Witnesses had identified Brown as the gunman, prosecutors said. U.S. Marshals tracked him down and arrested him at a Wilmington, Delaware, apartment Wednesday night.
He was being held in Delaware, awaiting extradition back to Camden County.
It was unclear if Brown had an attorney who could comment on his behalf.
Barry Sharer, the president of New Jersey-based AAH Management Co., Inc., said that McKoy didn t live at Sergi Farms and that the management company was working with police to ensure the safety of all residents.

ELKTON â An Elkton man has been nabbed in connection with a bank robbery that he allegedly committed in New Jersey four years ago, according to the Camden County (N.J.) Prosecutorâs Office.
Court records indicate that the suspect, Phillip Thomas, 39, of the 200 block of Mike Court in Elkton, was arrested on Sunday in Cecil County in an unrelated case after he had been on the lam since February 2017.
Thomas remained in the Cecil County Detention Center on Thursday, awaiting extradition to New Jersey, where he is charged with second-degree robbery, court records show. As for the Cecil County case, Thomas is charged with second-degree assault in connection with a domestic incident that occurred in Elkton on Sunday, according to charging documents.
