A parent’s formal complaint filed against Oakridge Superintendent Reta Doland in December set in motion an investigation into her job performance but it also revealed monthslong strife between the district leader and parents and school employees.
The complaint, and findings of a subsequent investigation from a third-party consultant released this month, touched on problems that others in the district were concerned about too, including lack of communication.
The investigation found the request to remove Doland as superintendent unwarranted, but also found areas of needed improvement. Even still, there’s a 90% vote of no confidence from the teachers’ union and frustrations about how the board is handling the concerns.
