KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 21): The main index of Bursa Malaysia pared some of its gains in the mid-morning today as sentiment remained guarded on still-high local Covid-19 cases.
At 10am, the FBM KLCI was up 6.81 points at 1,608.35. The index earlier rose to a high of 1,615.22.
Losers overtook gainers by 425 to 362, while 416 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 1.64 billion shares valued at RM956.81 million.
The gainers included Panasonic Manufacturing Malaysia Bhd, Nestle (Malaysia) Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, JF Technology Bhd, Amtel Holdings Bhd and HPP Holdings Bhd.
The actively traded stocks included AT Systematization Bhd, HPP, Fintec Global Bhd, Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX), DGB Asia Bhd, JF Technology, KTG Bhd and Inix Technologies Holdings Bhd.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 20): The main index at Bursa Malaysia edged up cautiously in early trade Wednesday, ahead of Malaysia’s first interest-rate decision of the year when Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) monetary policy committee meets later in the day. At 9.05am, the FBM KLCI was up 2.67 points to 1,604.55. The early gainers included United Plantations Bhd, JF Technology Bhd, UWC Bhd, APM Automotive Holdings Bhd, KESM Industries Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, Khind Bhd and Unisem (M) Bhd.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 20): The main index at Bursa Malaysia rose 0.58% at mid-morning today as index-linked glove makers advanced after the whole of Malaysia, with the exception of Sarawak, was placed under the Movement Control Order (MCO) from Jan 22 to Feb 4.
Senior Minister (Security Cluster) Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob yesterday said the measure was taken after the increasing positive Covid-19 cases in the community in the states involved.
At 10am, the FBM KLCI rose 9.37 points to 1,611.25.
Gainers led losers by 491 to 310, while 405 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 1.48 billion shares valued at RM963.75 million.
The gainers included JF Technology Bhd, Unisem (M) Bhd, KESM Industries Bhd, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, Public Bank Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd, Supermax Corp Bhd and Top Glove Corp Bhd.

At 12.30pm, the FBM KLCI rose 12.98 points to 1,614.86.
Gainers led losers by 390 to 324, while 736 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 3.08 billion shares valued at RM2.09 billion.
The gainers included Public Bank Bhd, JF Technology Bhd, Unisem (M) Bhd, Mi Technovation Bhd, Malaysian Pacific Industries Bhd, Top Glove Corp Bhd, Hartalega Holdings Bhd and Supermax Corp Bhd.
KUALA LUMPUR (Jan 19): The main index of Bursa Malaysia made less-than-convincing gains in the mid-morning today as the government’s RM15 billion Perlindungan Ekonomi dan Rakyat Malaysia (PERMAI) assistance package did not seem to boost sentiment, which appeared to be more influenced by the coronavirus pandemic.
At 10am, the FBM KLCI had gained 4.92 points to 1,614.44.
Losers led gainers by 416 to 404, while 420 counters traded unchanged. Trading volume was 1.75 billion shares valued at RM1.03 billion.
The gainers included Milux Corp Bhd, Toyo Ventures Holdings Bhd, PMB Technology Bhd, Cymao Holdings Bhd, Far East Corp Bhd and Khind Holdings Bhd.
The actively traded stocks included Vsolar Group Bhd, ARB Bhd, KTG Bhd, PNE PCB Bhd, JAKS Resources Bhd, i-Stone Group Bhd, Samaiden Group Bhd and Dagang NeXchange Bhd (DNeX).
