KUALA LUMPUR (July 1): Malaysia, like most Asian markets, did not escape the stock equity rout in the first half of this year that was fuelled by the global tightening sparked by an aggressive US Federal Reserve, and the Ukraine-Russian war.
Bursa Malaysia began the week on Monday (March 7) with a mixed session, lifted by bargain-hunting in selected heavyweights led by Petronas Chemicals Group Bhd and Press Metal Aluminium Holdings Bhd amid mounting concerns over geopolitical tensions and weaker sentiment on most regional bourses, a dealer said.
