Stratford council has approved an additional option for patios that will better meet the needs of businesses that couldn’t participate in last year’s patio-boardwalk project, giving local restaurants more flexibility in how and where they offer outdoor dining.
The move came after city staff and members of Stratford’s economic response and recovery task force spoke with restaurant owners who didn’t take advantage of last year’s patio boardwalk project, which involved the prefabrication and installation of wooden boardwalks over street parking in front of downtown restaurants to provide patios for outdoor dining.
