Sky-dive for charity: All those young farmers who took part CUMBRIA S young farmers were flying high last weekend in a bid to raise cash for two worthwhile charities. Southern District chairman, William Longmire and five others made plans to take to the skies for a charity sky-dive. Three attempts later and with a further seven intrepid young farmers added to the hardy bunch, the sky-dive finally took place on Sunday, May 2 at the Black Knights Sky-Diving Centre at Cockerham, Lancashire. NFYFC Vice Chairman Ed Dungait, Cumbria YFC President Judith Emmott, Cumbria YFC County Chairman Neil Curr and Southern District Chair Jess Rogerson along with Southern District members William Longmire, Chloe Dawson, Connie Hodgson, Beth Pickthall, Lori-jo Sharp, Jenny Wood, Jack Sowerby and Sam Wilson risked life and limb to jump out of planes at 15,000 feet to raise funds for the Southern District of Cumbria YFC and the Calvert Trust.
