Nasarawa Utd cage Wolves 2-1 to maintain unbeaten run

With their second away victory of the season, Nasarawa United have shot to the top of the table with 14 points from six matches and are closely followed by Rivers United on 12 points but victory over Kano Pillars on Wednesday in Kaduna will see the ‘Pride of Rivers’ topple Nasarawa United. Although Uche Ihuarulam had put Warri Wolves ahead in the 21st minute, Silas Nwankwo capitalised on poor defending by the home lads to equalise for the visitors in the 63rd minute.

Ohanachom’s strike helped Nasarawa extend their unbeaten run in the NPFL to six games, having recorded four wins and two draws. Uche Ihuarulam gave home side Wolves the lead after 21 minutes but Silas Nwankwo restored parity three minutes after the hour mark. At the Godswill Akpabio stadium, Uyo, Sadeeq Yusuf scored twice for Sunshine Stars to help the visitors defeat Dakkada 2-1 and move to sixth in the table.
