With foreign-based Super Eagles players unavailable for the friendly against Mexico in Los Angeles due to their involvement in pre-season training with their various clubs, home-based players have therefore been drafted for the encounter against El Tri. The onus is therefore on the local players, who will be led by former Nigeria U-20 Coach Paul Aigbogun, to prove to senior national team manager, Gernot Rohr that he has all the while been making a grave mistake by ignoring them. However, if travel arragements went well, the Franco-German may still lead the team, writes Kunle Adewale
Former Nigeria U-20 Coach Paul Aigbogun will be in charge when the Super Eagles take on El Tri in an international friendly outing scheduled in Los Angeles, after Nigeria Football Federation, NFF Technical Director, Austin Eguavoen was denied visa to travel with the team.

The management of Heartland FC, Owerri, has raised an alarm over the disappearance and alleged transfer of one of its players Nnoshiri Samuel, to Kastina United.
In a statement from the club licensing officer, Nze Tonnex, made available to journalists in Owerri, he said the player was duly registered with the club, with his clearance fee fully paid and salaries/bonuses paid up to date before his disappearance.
The club expressed worries that due process was not followed such as placing the club on notice, nor did Katsina United contact them before the transfer.
He said: “We remain resolute in seeking justice and cannot afford to lose a player in whom we have invested so much.”

Nigeria Professional Football League sides Heartland FC and Katsina United are both laying claim to the ownership of Samuel Nnoshiri, who left the Owerri-based side during the NPFL mid-season break.
Heartland had raised the alarm that Nnoshiri, who now plays for Katsina United, was still the club’s property.
The club had in a statement signed by its media officer, Solomon Onu, on Monday, alleged that Katsina illegally acquired the services of Nnoshiri.
Nnoshiri made his debut for Katsina on Sunday, scoring in their 5-1 drubbing of Wikki Tourists.
Speaking with our correspondent on Tuesday, the media officer of Katsina United, Nuhu Shaiskawa, said they followed all legal process in the acquisition of Nnoshiri.
Rasheed Ahmed scored a brace in the 35th and 74th minute while new signing Samuel Nnoshiri and Samuel Kalu scored a goal each to complete the rout.
Assisted by Joel Djondang, Stephen Gopey scored Wikki’s lone goal in the 48th minute with a left-footed shot.
Tourists ended the match with only 10 men following the straight red card to junior international, Nazifi Yahaya for what appeared like a verbal assault on the referee.
At Lafia township stadium, Kwara United were reduced to 10-men as early as the 18th minute after Jide Williams was given the marching orders following a second booking and Nasarawa United made judicious use of their numerical advantage.
