JERSEYVILLE A Colfax man has been charged with burglary and theft recently by the Jersey County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Cody L. Wells, 28, of Colfax, was charged April 19 with burglary, a lass 2 felony; and theft, a Class 4 felony.
According to court documents, on April 11 Wells allegedly broke into a building in the 1200 block of Miller Lake Drive, and took tools, a signed Dale Earnhardt Jr. card, Spiderman comics and other memorabilia valued at less than $500.
Bail was set at $75,000. Wells has previous arrests this year for drug, weapons, and credit card fraud charges.

JERSEYVILLE A Colfax man faces drug and weapons charges in Jersey County stemming from an incident in late March.
Cody L. Wells, 28, of the 100 block of N. Center Street, Colfax, was charged April 14 with unlawful possession of weapon by felon, a super Class 3 felony; and unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony.
According to court documents, on March 25 Wells, who has a prior felony conviction, was found to be in possession of a 13-inch “Mossy Oak” knife; and less than five grams of methamphetamine.
Bail was set at $25,000.

JERSEYVILLE Multiple people were charged recently with methamphetamine-related felonies by the Jersey County State’s Attorney’s Office.
Bobby L. Johnson, 46, of Jerseyville, was charged March 30 with unlawful possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, a Class 2 felony; unlawful possession of controlled substance, a Class 4 felony; and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to court documents, on March 29 Johnson allegedly was found to be in possession of approximately 1.3 grams of methamphetamine, “along with clear cellophane baggies and a digital scale, items associated wit the intent to deliver methamphetamine.”

JERSEYVILLE A Jerseyville man faces multiple felony drug charges.
Tyler A. Welch, 27, listed as homeless out of Jerseyville, was charged March 10 with unlawful possession of methamphetamine, a Class 3 felony; two counts of unlawful possession of controlled substance, both Class 4 felonies; and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia, a Class A misdemeanor.
According to court documents, on March 9 Welch allegedly was found to be in possession of less than five grams of methamphetamine; less than 15 grams each of fentanyl/heroin and Adderall, and a glass pipe.
Bail was set at $30,000.
