The United States Daughters of 1812 (U.S.D. 1812) recently held its 107th state council in Little Rock. The council was attended by members from across the state and was hosted by the Baseline-Meridian Chapter.
In a response to the need that veterans have for certain items, the Simon Bradford Chapter United States Daughters of 1812 (USD 1812), the John Eliot Chapter Colonial Dames 17th Century (CD17C) and the Arkansas Society Daughters of Colonial Wars once again joined forces and held a "Towel Shower."
The Arkansas State Society of the United States Daughters of 1812 recently presented the Arkansas Traveler Certificate to Dianne Brown Cannestra of Georgia. Cannestra is the president national of U.S.D. 1812 and represented the society at the 107th Arkansas State Council, according to a news release.
With temperatures below freezing, the United States Daughters of 1812 and other volunteers, including the Arkansas National Guard, picked up nearly 3,000 wreaths from the graves of unknown soldiers.
