Musician Jeremy Plog doesn’t mind playing a doubleheader on Saturday because he’s a big baseball guy. Plog is on bass with headliner Jackie Greene Band at the Crystal Bay Casino and on guitar for openers Golden Cadillacs. “I am playing every gig I can, juggling all my bands and day job,” Plog said in a phone interview after dropping his son off at his Little League game. The Roseville resident has probably been in more bands that much-traveled pitcher Edwin Jackson has had big league uniforms (14). He’s also coached former San Francisco Giants Tim Flannery and Jake Peavy as they transitioned from the diamond to the stage as guitarists.

FAIRFIELD Sacramento-based singer/songwriter/multiple-instrumentalist Jackie Greene returns Feb. 27 to the Downtown Theatre with his quartet for a live-streamed concert presented by Solano concert promotion duo Frazier Trager Presents.
Greene headlined a Jeff Trager fundraiser for the Crystal Middle School Music Program back in 2007 when the theater went by its original name the Fairfield Center for Creative Arts. At that time, Greene was a budding star in his mid-20s riding high on the positive critical and commercial success of his Americana/roots albums “Gone Wanderin’ ” (2002), “Rusty Nails” (2003), “Sweet Somewhere Bound” (2005) and “American Myth” (2006).
