The Mackenzie Tour added its first new members from its 2021 Qualifying Tournaments, with Colombia’s Camilo Aguado capturing medalist honors at The Club at Weston Hills on Friday by three shots. Aguado, a PGA TOUR Latinoamerica veteran, will have dual membership this year as he joins the Mackenzie Tour for the first time. Others emerging from Weston to earn status for the first half of the 2021 season were the trio of Gavin Hall, Jeremy Gandon and Jason Thresher, who all tied for second. Mexico’s Raul Pereda and amateur Andrew Walker survived a three-man playoff for the final two positions. The Tour’s next Qualifying Tournament is set for the Mission Inn Resort and Club in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida, beginning Tuesday (March 2-5). Here is a short look at the six qualifiers.
Aguado goes wire to wire to win in Weston

Aguado’s 62 lifts him to two-shot lead at Q-School
Colombia’s Camilo Aguado is making a habit of going low in golf tournaments and it’s paying off. A month ago, Aguado was playing in the final event of the Mexican Tour season, a co-sanctioned event with PGA TOUR Latinoamerica’s Dev Series. At one point in his third round, he was 10-under through 10 holes before shooting a 63.

Jay (Jake) Card III, called by many the finest golfer to come out of Shelter Island, has notched another significant victory to add to his many triumphs.
The PGA pro has been declared co-champion of the Indian Spring Country Club (Fla.) with fellow pro Jeremy Gandon of France. A playoff was canceled because of darkness.
Jake came into the clubhouse with a six under par 66, the identical score carded by the Frenchman. Each golfer recorded seven birdies and a bogey, and split the first prize money, each pocketing $775 apiece from the $4,875 purse.
Next up is the 16th annual Tour Championship supported by Joey D Golf. The tournament will be held at the Abacoa Golf Club in Jupiter, Fla. Golfers will be gunning for a winning prize of $10,000.
