HAMBURG, N.Y. (WKBW) â Jessica Betzig of Hamburg has always had a passion for food.
âI grew up in the restaurant business. My parents owned a restaurant so Iâve been around food my whole life, she said.
But it was not until this year that Jess decided to turn her passion into her livelihood.
âOver the summer, a family member asked if I would make some healthy meals for them instead of them buying it from other meal prep places, Betzig said. I said sure [and] then after a few weeks, I shared the menu on my Instagram, and a few people reached out, and that s when I decided to officially start a business.â

The COVID-19 pandemic has people craving comfort food, specifically, baked goods. Cookies, cakes, pies, muffins and more are the sustenance that gets us through a global crisis and soothes us upon first bite. According to a survey conducted by The Harris Poll for General Mills Foodservice in October, 26 percent of Americans are craving more baked goods and 28 percent are eating more of them.
Hobby bakers have decided to capitalize on our collective sweet tooth.
