The COVID-19 pandemic has people craving comfort food, specifically, baked goods. Cookies, cakes, pies, muffins and more are the sustenance that gets us through a global crisis and soothes us upon first bite. According to a survey conducted by The Harris Poll for General Mills Foodservice in October, 26 percent of Americans are craving more baked goods and 28 percent are eating more of them.
Hobby bakers have decided to capitalize on our collective sweet tooth.
